girl’s full size bed

this one made me happy! it’s one of those pieces where i could shoot myself for not taking a before photo!!! this was brown….scratched up…had flying eagle hardware….screamed to be rethunk!! i brought it home….sanded/primed/painted/popped the back off so it could be a contrasting color/added the cute flowers and the crystal hardware ….and NOW it makes me happy! MY girls have all been talking about what treasures they would hide in the cabinets and what special things would get displayed on the shelf….forgot how important little places to tuck things were when i was a girl! i would have hidden love notes from tom (we met in 10th grade biology class (he dissected my frog and i fell in love immediately!) so he’s been part of my life for 7 years now. ha! just kidding! guess he’s been around for more like 28, huh? what a fabulous choice i made!). this is a full size headboard – white and distressed -(notice that it’s white – not cream for those of you matching other pieces)

relax!

this is a solid wood full size bed – cream and distressed – by dixie furniture. the end table that matches it is also posted here. a bed is a wonderful thing! not that i use mine that much – what with my insomnia issues and all….but they are still pretty amazing places to hang out! =D i find that they are also fabulous places to heal….which brings me to a discussion my husband and i had last week. we went to QT – one of our favorite hangouts – are we classy or what??? and tom got a soda – while i mixed things up a bit and instead of my regular diet coke…decided to live on the wild side and get a frozen coke. after about 4 sips – large sips if we’re sharing everything – i grabbed my neck and exclaimed that i had “throapy”! after almost choking due to laughing so hard, my man asked what the heck “throapy” was. i explained that it was like a brain freeze only in your throat. tom swears that there is absolutely no such thing! saysthat has never happened to him. says i am making it up. okay….so maybe i made up the word throapy….but not the condition!!! haven’t YOU ever had your throat hurt because you drank something cold too fast? haven’t YOU had throapy?? well. .. if you HAVE had throapy….this is a wonderful place to lay down and relax till it passes. even if you hadn’t had throapy, this is a beautiful bed!

okay…here’s another full size antique cream and distressed bed….and i must say….i love it! simple clean lines, but enough detail to make it beautiful! very classy! this piece was another one that i risked my life for…as i do so regularly for you! =D the moving sale that i drove to was IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE!!! really! i know people use that phrase…but until this particular trip…i had not literally been to the middle of nowhere. now…i have! so after driving to a location that isn’t even on a map, i got out and thought to myself (now why do people say that? isn’t is redundant? if you are truly “thinking” isn’t it always going to be to yourself? if not then you aren’t really THINKING…) so i THINK…”there better be something amazing here…or i’m just stealing something to make it worth the drive! and it’ll have to be small and super valuable or they’ll catch me while i try to load something big” i start walking around the yard and it is indeed a moving sale. but they happen to be moving all the good stuff with them. go figure! so right before i resort to theft…i notice a shop out back. i ask if they have anything for sale in said shop and the owner says – “well – yea – but it’s mostly junk” A HA! she has just said the magical word JUNK! i trot to the shop and THIS is what i found!!!! truly scary when i found it….but truly gorgeous now!!! i scored a stunning bed and did not have to burglarize the family…nor did i run out of gas or get lost returning to civilization….so all in all…a super morning!!!

this is a gorgeous antique full size bed. i LOVE the lines! they just don’t make pieces like this anymore! set includes headboard, footboard, rails, and slats. i was so totally excited when i found this that is was hard to for me to stay detached – i probably would have gotten a better deal if the owner hadn’t had to offer me a tissue i was drooling over it so bad! =D this would TRULY be the start of a princess room for a little girl – or an impressive guest room! (and of course i could totally get you set up with a dresser and nightstand to complete the room!!! – in fact i have listed a great little end table that matches nicely!!) =D

Stunning Bed

i’ve never really understood that phrase “you’ll sleep like a baby”. don’t babies wake up every other hour screaming for food? why would you want to sleep like that? how about “you’ll sleep like a teenager on a saturday morning who knows she has chores to do when she gets up”??? might not be as catchy a phrase but MUCH more accurate if you’re going for sleeping like the dead! anyway…this is a truly beautiful piece of furniture. rich cream color – scalloped edge on the headboard and foot board. headboard is accented with charming carved wood detail. set comes with headboard, footboard, cool wooden rails for each side and slats for supporting mattress. after purchasing this gorgeous bed you’ll sleep like someone who just took a triple dose of Nyquil (also not catchy = but again – more accurate than “sleep like a baby”) haha
