scallop table

table top

had another wee table like this…and it sold before i could even get it posted! this is a sweet little scalloped edge end table. lovingly transported from kentucky – once i got rid of the base color of gold, the avacado green flowers, the brown leaves and the black vines all over her, she turned out pretty cool! one of those things where you just wonder what some of the previous owners were taking…i mean thinking! haha
$68

red pull

in march i posted a little end table with green knobs…my nod to st patricks day…and the little guy was purchased with a request that i change the knobs to black. i have teased that friend….and actually posted another piece with green knobs which had – in the drawer – black ones you could put on AT HOME – after you told me how much you loved the green! ha ha
that one was also purchased… by a way cool person who swears she loves the green (although she’s also insanely nice so she could have changed those puppies the minute i turned around and spent all evening laughing at me – haha) well – i’m going out on a limb again here….this time the hardware is …..red! i love red and black and red is surprisingly neutral. although….in an attempt to make sure everyone is happy….i have included a black pull in the drawer for you to switch to. as with the green piece….just praise me for my artistic and creative choice…tell me how incredibly darling it is in red…and change it out in the privacy of your own home! =D

glass side tables

glass side tables2

so i found these about 6 months ago….and LOVED them….then i started second guessing myself and thought possibly i was the only person on the planet who would indeed love them. well….i decided i’m probably not the only one who sees something cool. how do i know???? you ask??? well…..let me tell you!!!
i had these carefully tucked away in a safe corner of my garage….(those of you who have been here and seen my garage just fell out of your chairs laughing at how ridiculous that is….and for those of you who have NOT….let’s just say i am AMAZED that no one has called social services to have my children removed from my home! but that’s my story and i’m stickin’ to it….so….) i had these carefully tucked away in a safe corner of my garage and was “antique-ing” one weekend. was in a very high end store – no paint anywhere on me and the people still weren’t paying much attention to me – ha! well all of the sudden i went around a corner and squealed! (no “may we help you ma’am?” or “are you okay?” in fact from the looks i got i think squealed is the right word since they seemed to be thinking “pig!”) but anyhoo….i saw a table EXACTLY like mine. well…okay not exactly…it was triangular – but that was the only difference. okay – not the ONLY difference…mine had not yet been rethunk…so it was a bit scarier than theirs – but that truly was the only difference. geometry and cosmetics. so of course i decided to look at the price. at which point i did my little piggie squeal again! theirs was priced at – are you sitting???? – $795!! let me just spell that for you….SEVEN HUNDRED AND NINETY FIVE DOLLARS! soooooo…. i decided that my taste is incredible….i should never second guess myself….and these puppies should single handedly help us retire in style. ha! i figure i could sell them for buy-one-get-one-free – you only pay $795 but you get TWO! ha! actually…i am selling them for $75 each – BARGAIN, HUH????? that’s a savings of ONE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED AND FOURTY DOLLARS! so come take them home! quick!

tv stand

tv stand2

a while ago i posted a dresser that was kinda retro….but with shabby chic touches. i called it the “shabbytro” dresser. well…this is a shabbytro entertainment center/tv stand/buffet piece. little tapered legs and straight clean lines say retro….but then the distressing and the scrollwork say shabby chic. best of both worlds. we have drilled several holes in the back if you’d like to use this as a tv stand….tv on top with components inside. could also be a buffet piece – TONS of storage area. i have her in my entryway cause i am now in love with a big ole long piece in my front entrance!

full bed

endtable

this is a solid wood full size bed – cream and distressed – by dixie furniture. the end table that matches it is also posted here. a bed is a wonderful thing! not that i use mine that much – what with my insomnia issues and all….but they are still pretty amazing places to hang out! =D i find that they are also fabulous places to heal….which brings me to a discussion my husband and i had last week. we went to QT – one of our favorite hangouts – are we classy or what??? and tom got a soda – while i mixed things up a bit and instead of my regular diet coke…decided to live on the wild side and get a frozen coke. after about 4 sips – large sips if we’re sharing everything – i grabbed my neck and exclaimed that i had “throapy”! after almost choking due to laughing so hard, my man asked what the heck “throapy” was. i explained that it was like a brain freeze only in your throat. tom swears that there is absolutely no such thing! saysthat has never happened to him. says i am making it up. okay….so maybe i made up the word throapy….but not the condition!!! haven’t YOU ever had your throat hurt because you drank something cold too fast? haven’t YOU had throapy?? well. .. if you HAVE had throapy….this is a wonderful place to lay down and relax till it passes. even if you hadn’t had throapy, this is a beautiful bed!
full size bed – headboard/footboard/siderails – $127
end table – $62

harold

harold2

you know how you have a vision in your head of how something will look when you finish it? well….um…er….uh…this is NOTHING like what i envisioned! i have done a couple of dressers lately in black and white and like the contrast between the two colors…so i decided i would do a nightstand to match. i was excited when i discovered that the yucky metal ovals came off this piece so i could rework them. i envisioned a black and white little masterpiece – cool accents – real classy! well…what happened was Harold. i painted the piece white…painted the top black…and as soon as i put the black ovals back on i knew i had gone astray from my original plan. =D Harold (named by my 16 year old) appeared as soon as i attached the hardware. i laughed till i thought i would cry and still giggle when i pass him. haven’t decided if i’m laughing because he’s hilarious and unique….or because he’s such a far cry from my original vision. but he made me happy enough that i thought i’d offer him to you. he could be DARLING in a little boy’s room (and i seem to do quite a bit for girls!). if Harold makes you happy, come pick him up. he’d love to have a permanent home!

accessorize2

accessorize

i keep telling my girls that old saying that “our ability to accessorize is what separates us from the animals”…in fact they roll their eyes at me cause when i catch them leaving the house without earrings my question is -”so you’re going to school NAKED today???” (huge eye roll) (and i would imagine that those of you who have come to the house to purchase something and had me answer the door in my paint clothes looking homeless and not having showered are laughing so hard you need some medical attention at this point….well i DO accessorize when i leave the house…usually…most days…almost always…when i have time….ha! really i DO! it is my fervent hope that a lovely necklace and earrings take all the attention away from my 7 chins!!)
anyhoo….this little table knew how to accessorize…and that’s what sucked me in!! the little filligree accents and the way the drawer pulls coordinate but aren’t exactly the same….way cool! not to mention all the carved detail on the sides and around the drawers. this little baby separated herself from the pack…which is exactly why we accessorize, right?? =D
this piece still available for $62

blackwflowers

blackwflowers2

heading somewhere a couple of weeks ago…i do not remember where…and as we were zooming down the road, i noticed something out of the corner of my eye. i asked my man to slow down, but we were in a hurry and he chose to continue in zoom mode. as we rounded the corner i saw that a new thrift store had opened along this particular stretch of highway…so i did the only rational thing i could do…i screamed “swerve to the right!”…which this time my man DID. (because, i believe, he was scared out of his mind) as we pulled into the parking lot i realized that it might not be the jackpot i was dreaming of…but i did find this one table which i love (aren’t the flowers darling??) as i hopped back into the van with my little find, i could FEEL the anger. what is it they say? it was “palpable”? the look on his face was less than loving and he asked in a very controled voice (which is always bad) “you risked our lives for THAT?” now i had several directions i could take this.
#1 “no, you idiot – YOU did because you did not slow down when i asked you to – you continued to zoom”
#2 “no, mr nascar – YOU did because you were going way too fast to begin with”
#3 – “no, DEAR – YOU did because the only time we were in peril was during your crazy swerve – i assumed you would do a more SAFE swerve”
but… as i thought about all that he puts up with…and how agreeable he is…and how very very handsome…i decided to go with
#4 – “yes, love of my life…but remember that we will probably make $5-7 dollars on this so it’s all good, right?” and i gave him one of my sweetest smiles. he cracked up – looked at me like i was insane (which i guess i am) and we went on our merry way.
so the little “swerve table” can be yours for only $51

polka dot end table

polkda dot end table

i have branched out yet again. my talent knows no bounds. i have once more created a thing of beauty to behold. ha! what i actually should be writing here is “someone please buy this so i can say “see????? TOLD you it was cool!” to my family! =D i love polka dots. they make me happy! since this table top was sunken down a little in the middle (for those of you not in the business that’s a professional furniture phrase: “sunken down a little”) it seemed like the perfect place to try something extra. now the problem you’ll have is not wanting to sit anything on the top and cover up the darling dots!
this piece can “whimsy up” (another professional phrase you might not be familiar with) your home for only $68.00
