i found a keeper!

i found a keeper – and i’m not talking about the buffet piece i am posting…
i am so proud… my husband found this piece all on his own!! i felt so very loved!! why, you ask???
1. he saw a thrift store and loved me enough to think of me
2. he took the time to stop and go in and look around
3. he saw this piece and called me to ask if i was interested…and i told him i had no clue…so…
4. he walked around it snapping pictures and e-mailing them to me while everyone watched
5. he sauntered around waiting while i pulled up the pictures, told him they were blurry and asked for close ups
6. he told me i was very high maintenance – wait – that did NOT make me feel loved! =)
7. he re-took the photos – this time including close ups
8. he guarded the piece which by now had drawn quite a bit of attention…while i pulled up the pictures
9. he listened while i squealed and told him it was awesome and to RUN to the cashier to pay

all in all… i was impressed with his vision – since it was dog ugly when he carried it in the house…and i was thrilled that despite the fact that i have dripped paint on almost every surface in our home – taken over the garage so we can’t even BEGIN to park in it – spent more money and time at home depot than either one of us care to add up – and constantly ask him to move/carry two ton pieces of furniture up and down stairs and all over my house….he is still hugely supportive and caring! i found a keeper!

this piece has four big old storage areas – great for oversized bowls, platters, appliances, dishes – there is a dividing shelf in the middle that makes the inside area even more useful. it’s cream and distressed and has beautiful carving on the front.
