industrial and homey…
don’t you admire how i can create all these things that are the opposite? how i can blend two totally different worlds with fabulous results? how i tend to combine things that would normally never be together and end up with something stunning?? ha!! well…i have done just that once again! i really do like the magnet boards – very fun and functional…but the paint takes about 2,300 coats. kind of time consuming! so i searched the world over for a piece of metal that i could cut to fit in the frame…(they even swore at home depot that they had nothing like that…well…uh…that’s where i got it! hello!) and after remembering the chicken wire fiasco (i did a project long ago using chicken wire…asked my husband to trim it for me…and he had the NERVE to bleed on my project! needless to say i was not thrilled and knew we needed to start over) so i purchased some $600.00 wire snips that would protect my project…i mean his hands! i had some plans to cover the steel…but when i put it in the frame to check the size, i REALLY liked the sleek lines of the steel with the carved detail on the frame. the unusual combination of industrial and homey!
so here’s a way cool magnet board – and it comes with 4 handmade magnets.

got a sectional?
i think coffee tables are hard to find if you have a sectional. they all seem to be rectangles and that doesn’t work real well. i have even had a couple of people ask about this particular issue. =D so i found a table that i think works really well for a coffee table if you have a sectional! it’s a cool geometric shape and has GOBS of storage space inside (for family games, video games and controllers, dvd’s, snacks – of course) and naturally – it would be super even if you don’t have a sectional! take it home for $62.00
the very essence of shabby chic
this table is the very essence of shabby chic (my husband disrespectfully asked if this meant the table “smelled” – men!) so i had to explain to “mr. uninformed” (i thought of lots of other adjectives for that spot – ha!) that the “essence” meant the representation of….the complete example of…the symbol of…
so with that new information in mind…he agreed that this little table is the “very essence” of shabby chic…represents all that we love about shabby chic – fun architecture, painted, distressed, peeling aged finish – a welcoming, relaxed look.
let her help “relax” your home for only $61.00 (and as a side note – she does NOT smell!) =D

barley???
so i found this little table and the person told me it was a table with “barley twist” legs. i thought to myself – this person is a little wacky…barley is a grass-ish (my own word) type nasty fiber-y thing that healthy people ingest ….while THIS is a darling piece of furniture. upon further research…i am embarrassed to admit that “barley twist” is indeed a furniture term…used to describe what i thought were “cool rope-ish (my word again) legs. apparently there is a barley sugar that was used to make a treat shaped like these legs (do any of you really care???) of course once i found out sugar and treats were involved i decided i liked the wee table even more!!
this would make an adorable coffee table for a wee space….or a fun little side table too! black and distressed she’s ready to go home with you for only $51 bucks

What I Want Them To Know…
about six months ago, i did a dresser a little something like this one. when i found this piece…it was perfect since the drawers were a “blank slate”. so here’s what i want them to know…
i think most of you know by now that i have five children – four girls and a handsome little man. my youngest is four and my oldest is sixteen. i realize this may sound insane, but i already think about the fact that my sixteen year old only has about two years left at home…where does the time go?? and so i already spend time wondering if i have taught her all that i should have to prepare her to live on her own. how in the world does this relate to furniture? well…i decided that my teenagers spend an obscene amount of time “getting ready”…changing clothes, trying things on, etc – so they spend a lot of time with their dressers! (hee hee) (or well…the floor space right in front of their dressers – but …same thing…)so i decided to do a dresser that would list a few of the qualities that i want my children to have developed in our home-things that are important to their dad and i – things that i want them to see and be reminded of every day – qualities that i think will make them succcessful and happy as they start their own homes someday.
i want them to believe – believe in themselves, believe that they can do anything they set their minds to, believe that they are special and talented.
i want them to create – there is joy in creating, i want them to find that joy no matter what they create – whether it’s an incredible dresser or a super batch of cookies, or a beautiful garden.
i want them to try – to have faith that when they try hard, they can literally make miracles happen – when they try to be their very best – THAT’s when they’ll truly be happy.
i want them to play – to remember that we’re here to feel joy! to have fun! to smile! i want them to always be carefree and young at heart enough to remember to play!
i want them to laugh! i chose to marry their dad cause he makes me laugh. laughing can change your whole mood – it can affect your health in a positive way – it can help you live longer – i want them to laugh as often as possible!!
i want them to dream - i want them to set goals and work to achieve them – i want them to dream about what would make them happy and work to make that dream come true.
so…now how many of you need one of these dressers for your daughter to see every day???
(and how many of you are going to e-mail me to tell me that a furniture website should never be this sappy?)

pink! i mean “blush”
this end table is a cream color – distressed – and then accented with “blush”! (i used to say pink…but have a very classy friend who says blush so i am trying to be like her!! pretty sad that my only attempt at being classy is using the word “blush”, huh?) it was fun painting the top….it was like icing a cake! made me want a snack – course everything makes me want a snack! ha! drawer front has been iced too, and a little curve on the legs. then i decided to add some “sprinkles”…the little glass knob – isn’t she cute now??? and did i mention she’s made by broyhill??
take her home for $56
