lion heads???
now….i don’t usually go for the incredibly ornate carving or detail on a piece of funiture that depicts animals. just don’t get it. claw feet – although i love em….just doesn’t make sense to me. so i was a little surprised at how much i like this little two tier table. love it….and even love the little lion head accents on the side. very different…and different appeals to me!!! love the scalloped edging…it’s just darn cute all over!!!
$68
octagon….coffee table!
i cannot figure out why….but i absolutely love this! it’s a wee bit different from what i normally fall in love with but i really like it! i have no clue what specifically appeals to me, but it’s awesome! i love the surface area..the shelf underneath…the chunky little legs…i guess it’s just the whole package!!! i think it would be cool for a sectional too! it’s pretty unusual so if youre liking it, better act fast…..$93 (have an octagon or hexagon or something-agon end table coming for those of you who like to be coordinated!)
on drugs…
this is not a normal rocker. not a standard size. not your regular dimensions. nothing run-of-the-mill about it. this baby is like a rocker on steroids!!! i did a couch not long ago – and this piece looks much like the couch. what sold me on this? i walked around and around it wondering if i should take it home (not just anything is worthy of my rethunkabilities you know!) and the decision was made instantly when i sat down in it. it is insanely comfortable. truly! i’m thinking that in order to house my rump comfortably, it would HAVE to be taking some performance enhancing drugs. so rest assured that if it’s comfortable for ME…..it’s gonna be SUPER for you!!!!! come get her and relax like never before!
$128
the other one sold…
had another wee table like this…and it sold before i could even get it posted! this is a sweet little scalloped edge end table. lovingly transported from kentucky – once i got rid of the base color of gold, the avacado green flowers, the brown leaves and the black vines all over her, she turned out pretty cool! one of those things where you just wonder what some of the previous owners were taking…i mean thinking! haha
$68
funny little guy!
how many of you thought this post was gonna be about my husband when you read the title?! ha ha ha
i couldn’t pass this up because of the carving – i loved it! and it’s a stunning price when you factor in that it took me 12 hours to distress it! (lotsa detail there!) basic black and white, cool little shape, awesome carving, storage inside, what’s not to love????
$53
super antique piece!
what the heck is the sponge in this photo?????? my house will never be perfect!!!!
this is fabulous in so many ways.
i drug this baby home from kentucky – found it in an antique store there and fell in love with the spindles on the sides…the little compartments in the top drawer….the fabulous condition it is in….the little wooden wheels…how wonderfully the drawers slide…and the RED color…all bunged up with green showing. it took some color matching paint, some sanding, some touch up work….but i wanted this one to have a more rustic look. it could be fabulous in lots of places….
entry way – splash of color, great place to display photos, etc and storage to boot!
kids bedroom – especially think it would be cool in a little boys room – paired with blacks or browns….way cool!
kitchen – store linens and silverware – add some fun color!
it would look adorable just about anywhere!! and since my dad spent about 900 hours helping me load and tie down this piece in 7,000 degree heat so i could drive it from KY to GA, when there was the option of laying on the couch in the a/c watching the western channel…SOMEONE needs to fall in love with this piece!!!! =D
price $183
i’m just going crazy with color, huh?
lots of people have requested a piece in espresso. so here it is.
(i thought about just leaving that as the post and not writing anymore. seemed kinda funny to me – but my man says my sense of humor is a little warped and it seemed kinda rude to him. so….)
when i went to KY to visit my parents one of my favorite things this trip was spending time with my dad! he showed me some of the coolest toys…i mean TOOLS. =D it was awesome to work with him and have him show me some things that would make my job a little easier. one of the things that wow-ed me was the air compressor/brad nailer set up. i can spend an hour trying to nail the back on a piece after i have popped it off and rethunk it. with this….it’s way fast and so much fun to shoot those little nails in there! looks more professional, holds better – fabulous! so i bring it home and show tom. he says “cool, honey” and goes back to what he’s doing. well….i got it out a while later to tighten up the legs on this table and he heard the compressor running and came in to see what i was doing. i handed him the nail gun so he could try it and BOOM! after the first nail BOOM! he was in love. NOW….he uses that thing on every stinkin piece i have! every piece i bring into the house….”oh – honey – this is a little loose – let me fix it for you!” “honey? this back could use a few more nails to really fasten it, let me do that for you!” “sweetheart? i’m just gonna tighten this up a bit, k?” “oh – sweetie – i found a couple places this piece could use some nails”
so – first of all – don’t try to take any of my pieces on an airplane as a carry on (i know many of you were seriously considering this!) they will NOW never pass thru the metal detector as they all have somewhere right around 2,000 metal brads nailed into them.
secondly – have you seen that tornado movie – called twister i think? well one of my pieces would now be something sturdy to grab onto in high winds….it is NOT blowing apart!
lastly – i’d like you to appreciate the fact that i am not raising my prices by 5-10 dollars a piece to compensate for the 45 bucks worth of brads in each one!
so come take a look at this STURDY table – you’ll love it!!
priceL $93
i don’t normally do this, but…
so i live in a very modest – ever so not fancy – not mansion size home with a husband, five kids, and (how the heck did THIS sneak in????) a hamster. and i now have 97 pieces of furniture for sale in my home. uh….would it be totally unnecessary to explain that it’s insane over here? need a bit more space. hard to wiggle my size #!@ behind around. (actually my behind only has two numbers in the size not three—but they are darn scary numbers!) so in an attempt to catch up on my computer work so it’s even with my amazing productivity level (can you say MARIA??) hee hee i am now posting what i’ll call a catchuppost. (not to be confused with anything that goes on fries – see how i can tie food into anything?????) so here are quite a few pieces that you truly need along with prices and (gasp – yes it’s true!) DIMENSIONS!
blue dresser across 33 deep 20 tall 46 $148
french provincial three drawer across 34 deep 17 tall 31 (i have a matching end table!) $132

this was sooooo much fun! am i a rethunking genius or what???? i found fabric that matched the flowers!!! how coordinated! how darling! how impressive! a fabulous one of a kind piece!!! nice size toy box doubles as a little padded bench. this is the kinda thing you usually only find in pricey boo-tee-cues! (boutiques). but this one is not in a boo-tee-cue – nor is it pricey! only $78
